Charges Filed Against Dominique Jones for the Murder at Ewell's Bar

The Fresno County District Attorney’s Office has filed charges against Domonique Brianne Jones (26, of Fresno) for her role in the murder of Gilberto Gutierrez (38, of Dinuba) on the evening of April 14th, 2024. It is alleged that on April 14, 2024, Mr. Gutierrez was shot and killed by Ms. Jones outside Ewell’s Bar in Fresno. The shooting happened during a physical disturbance outside of the bar. The victim, Mr. Gutierrez, had been trying to diffuse the situation before it escalated. The Felony Complaint filed in the Superior Court alleges that Domonique Jones committed:

  • One (1) Count of MURDER [Penal Code § 187];
  • One (1) Enhancement of PERSONAL AND INTENTIONAL DISCHRAGE OF A FIREARM CAUSING GREAT BODILY INJURY [Penal Code § 12022.53(d)];

In addition to charges against Ms. Jones, the Fresno County District Attorney’s Office has filed charges against Isaiah Michael Joseph Diaz Clayton (24, of Fresno) for:

  • One (1) Count of CARRYING A LOADED FIREARM IN PUBLIC [PC §25850(a)];
  • One (1) Count of CARRYING A CONCEALED FIREARM ON A VEHICLE [PC §25400(a)(2)]

Ms. Jones is facing 50 years to-life in state prison if convicted of the listed charge and enhancement. Mr. Clayton is facing 3 years in local prison if convicted of the charges. Jones and Clayton were arrested by officers of the Fresno Police Department on Friday, April 19, 2024, and remain in custody. Both Jones and Clayton are scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday, April 24th at 8:30 am in Department 11 of the Fresno Superior Court.
