The Fresno County District Attorney’s Office has filed multiple felony charges against Lelan Demaree Lee, 25, of Fresno, in connection with the March 23, 2026, shooting that claimed the lives of two teenage boys and left two other juveniles as victims.

It is alleged that during the early morning hours of March 23, 2026, Lee and another suspect exited a vehicle and opened fire on four juveniles who were walking back to a nearby apartment complex after visiting a restaurant near Fresno State. Two 15-year-old boys were killed, a 14-year-old boy suffered serious injuries, and a 17-year-old male was fired upon but was not injured. The complaint further alleges that Lee participated in two additional shootings involving an occupied residence and an occupied vehicle shortly before the murders.

The felony complaint filed in Fresno County Superior Court charges Lee with:

  • Two counts of MURDER [Penal Code § 187];
    • Two (2) Enhancements: PERSONAL AND INTENTIONAL DISCHARGE OF A FIREARM, CAUSING GREAT BODILY INJURY OR DEATH [Penal Code § 12022.53(d)];
    • Two (2) Enhancements: MULTIPLE MURDER [Penal Code §190.2(a)(3)];
  • Two counts of ATTEMPTED MURDER [Penal Code § 664/187];
    • One (1) Enhancement: PERSONAL AND INTENTIONAL DISCHARGE OF A FIREARM, CAUSING GREAT BODILY INJURY OR DEATH [Penal Code § 12022.53(d)];
    • One (1) Enhancement: PERSONAL AND INTENTIONAL DISCHARGE OF A FIREARM [Penal Code § 12022.53(c)];

  • One count of SHOOTING AT AN INHABITED DWELLING [Penal Code § 246];
  • One count of POSSESSION OF A FIREARM BY A FELON [Penal Code § 29800(a)(1)]

The complaint further alleges that Lee has two prior strike convictions for robbery from 2018 and 2020. At the time of the alleged offenses, Lee was on parole and subject to GPS monitoring.

If convicted of all charges and enhancements, Lee faces a sentence of life without the possibility of parole or the death penalty. A determination regarding whether to seek the death penalty will be made at a later date following a thorough review of the case.

Lee remains in custody at the Fresno County Jail.

He is scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. in Department 32 of the Fresno County Superior Court.
