Fresno County DA's Office Releases Inaugural Annual Report

The Fresno County District Attorney’s Office is proud to announce the publication of its first-ever Annual Report, a comprehensive look at the past decade of achievements, initiatives, and milestones under the leadership of District Attorney Lisa A. Smittcamp.

This 60-page report is the first of its kind in the history of the office. It captures the significant strides made since Smittcamp took the oath of office in 2015 and provides the public with an inside look at how the DA’s Office works to keep Fresno County safe.

Notable Highlights from the Inaugural Report:

  • The Role of the DA & Office Overview – from organizational structure to a case’s journey from filing to verdict.
  • Specialized Units & Innovations – including the Bureau of Investigations, the Officer-Involved Shooting/In-Custody Death team, and the groundbreaking Multi-Agency Digital Lab (MAD Lab).
  • Community Engagement & Education – initiatives focused on youth outreach, partnerships with schools, and fentanyl awareness efforts.
  • Historic Moments & Milestones – the office’s move into the historic Rowell Building, the introduction of service dogs Nikko & North, and the launch of revamped internship programs.
  • Major Case Highlights – a look back at significant prosecutions from 2015–2024.
  • Recognition & Partnerships – honoring staff who have been recognized by community organizations, law enforcement partners, and nonprofits.
