Fresno Man Sentenced to 53 Years to Life for Sexual Abuse of Minors

Published on August 06, 2025

Today, August 6, 2025, Salvador Reyna (44, of Fresno) was sentenced to a determinate term of 3 years plus 50 years to life in state prison for committing lewd acts involving three minor victims. The sentence was imposed by the Honorable Judge Jonathan B. Conklin of the Fresno County Superior Court.

On June 25, 2025, following a nearly two-month jury trial, Reyna was convicted of four counts of committing lewd acts with a child. Judge Conklin also found two sentencing enhancements to be true based on the nature and scope of the offenses.

The abuse occurred between the fall of 2008 and the summer of 2014. During that time, Reyna used grooming tactics and deception to exploit his victims. He provided them with alcohol and/or sedatives and used blindfolds to conceal his actions. Under the guise of playing games or performing harmless tasks, Reyna manipulated the victims into acts of sexual abuse. In one instance, a victim awoke to Reyna inappropriately touching her.

The jury trial began on May 5, 2025, and concluded on June 25, 2025. Although Reyna was sentenced to 53 years to life, he will be eligible for elderly parole after serving a minimum of 20 years in custody.

“This sentence ensures Reyna will be held accountable for the harm he caused and serves as a reminder that the Fresno County District Attorney’s Office will continue to aggressively prosecute those who target and exploit children,” said District Attorney Lisa Smittcamp. “We are grateful to the brave victims who came forward and to the law enforcement professionals who worked tirelessly to bring justice in this case.”

The Fresno County District Attorney’s Office extends its gratitude to the dedicated current and retired members of the Fresno Police Department for their investigative work and commitment to seeing this case through.

This case was successfully prosecuted by Senior Deputy District Attorney Kristin Maxwell of the Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit. SDDA Maxwell was assisted by Senior District Attorney Investigators Lorena Jimenez and Walden O’Neill of the Bureau of Investigations.

The Fresno County District Attorney’s Office remains steadfast in its commitment to protecting children and seeking justice for survivors of abuse.
